I don't know why I don't get flowers more often!
This is going to sound really stupid, but I've risked it before... I still have a bunch of flowers that I picked up for April's baby shower hanging around my house and they sincerely make me SO happy! I love the flowers everywhere!

Nate - 6 Months!
Our little Natester turned 6 months on Monday. What a sweet little boy he's turning out to be. It's really getting fun as Nate is so interested in what's going on around him. He likes to express himself through crazy faces and ear-piercing

Seriously, this kid makes me laugh all the time.
All these pictures were taken in a row while we were doing our 6 month photo. Tyra would be proud... aren't you supposed to do a different pose for each shot? Anyway, if I had tons of time on my hands, I would crop all the pictures so it would be easier to see the faces. But, alas, I don't. So this will have to do!
*Oh, side note: these seem MUCH cuter if you contort your mouth into all sorts of positions and make baby sounds.

I've heard "he's such a boy" SO much recently. Family, friends, nursery helpers... It's true. Everything he does is very boy!
Yesterday, I was at Lydia's house and as James was driving a train engine around her coffee table, she mentioned that all the little boys she knew were always perfectly content to play with one car all day. I was reminded of that as James played this afternoon:

Yep, that is my computer cord he's using as a phone. He sat there and babbled away for at least a few minutes!
Easter 2011
We went to my mom and dad's for Easter this year. It was a fun crowd and we actually ended up staying and chatting until 9:30! (Shut up, that's late for us!)
My mom set up an Easter egg (or should I say "Spring spheres", ha ha!) hunt for Kenley and James. She was very excited about the egg hunt. (Weren't you, Mom!)
They dug it, it was like a big game of "clean up"!
Nate and Grandpa Bob got to hang out a bit. Actually, I think he's called "Pop Pop". ;-)
For sure Brenda is "Granny" though!
I love how Bob and Nate are making the same face in this picture!
I don't think I've ever posted pictures of James with his guns. He loves his guns at Grandma & Grandpa's house!

I'm 26 (gasp),
Well, last Monday (the 18th, I'm a little behind!) was my big 2-6. Not a big deal. Ok, it kinda was. I'm like my dad, I love birthdays or anything to celebrate me. TOTALLY conceited, I'm aware. That's just "who I am". Ha ha!
Anyhoo... I had the best birthday ever this year. My parents picked up the boys in the morning and John and I had the whole day to do whatever, whenever. (That's a big deal these days because my stops are always carefully planned and packed for!)
We started by getting some lunch at Scuttlebutt in Everett. Super good food and atmosphere. It must be good, we were there Friday night too!
After that, we went to Sports Authority and got me some new running shoes. (yay! yay! yay!) I could have gone home after that and been totally happy! Oh, I also learned that I'm pretty flat footed. THAT must be the reason I'm not a fast runner. ;-)
Now hold your horses, John and I are a wild and crazy bunch. Next, we went to Discount Gun Sales. Ooooh. Ahhhh. Reed was working and I had never been, so we stopped in to say hello. The guys also chose my next gun and made me touch some of the guns. Eck.
After a rousing time at the gun store, we took the scenic route through Seattle to get to Pike Place Market. We walked around for a while in the Market then around the streets. Downtown Seattle is really a whole different experience for me. Sometimes I think I'd like to hang out down there a lot more, then I realize I like my quiet and crazy suburban life here! I'm not meant for a lot of downtown time... but it is really really fun every now and then!
After that we had dinner at Anthony's on the waterfront. It was beautiful right on the water with the sun and THE CLOUDS! I heart clouds.
Then to top off the great day, we stopped at the Cheesecake Factory to pick up some RED VELVET CHEESECAKE!!! SO yummy! I'm pretty sure we ate that while watching Law & Order at home, what could be better! :)

I hate clutter.
Echkgahg. (Read that with a gross look on your face, it feels better.)
My garage has been the Mecca of slobs for a about a year and a half now. I have been dreaming of built-in shelves with labeled matching blue Rubbermaid totes for years and years... I'm not picky or anything. ;-)
Anyway, today we finally got around to doing something about organizing this unholy area of the house. All afternoon was spent cleaning, building shelves (ok, I didn't really help with that, except for moral support - that's a big deal when it's <45* outside!), and organizing boxes in the garage.
Kids, this is what not to let your garage look like:

I seriously can't take a normal picture of Natester. But they're all pretty cute anyway! Check out the hat GALE LIGHT!! Nate clearly loves it! :)
And the boy being a boy. I'm sure every mom cringes the first few times their kid goes ankle deep in a mud puddle... but it's SO much fun. Or so I hear....?
I can't wait to post a pic of the garage all done and organized. It may take a while, but at least now I have the storage and motivation!!
On another note, after reading many other people's blogs, I think I write my captions wrong. Are the words supposed to be at the bottom of the picture? I don't want to be confusing, but maybe that just happens either way! Ha ha, "laugh o' lot"!

Extra long bedtime
Tonight John had to work late so the boys and I had an extra long get-ready-for-bedtime time.
James was so kind to share his toys with Nate.
And we've been working on sharing (since Kenley being here!), so he was very quick to congratulate himself for his good work!
And it wouldn't be bedtime without some "tickle tickle tickle"s. Which in James language sounds more like "tckatckatcka" in a very high-pitched voice!
