Baby-Meeting Eve Thoughts
Eek, I just realized that in just about 12 hours we'll have a new little outside baby in our family. There are a million things swirling in my head, but I'm trying my darndest to not think about anything. At all. It's not working......
Surgery will go fine, baby will be fine, recovery will be fine, and nursing will be fine.
God put Baby Bethy in our family and she'll fit in perfectly. Raising a girl may be different than boys, but I don't think we'll need to worry about parenting decisions at the hospital.
I will sleep through the night again. I will have a normal body again. I will be able to wrestle with the boys again. I will be able to walk without a hilariously awkward limp again.
I don't remember what to do with a newborn at all - I'm pretty sure they sleep and eat all day. I hope that's it!
I don't remember what a c-section recovery is like. I know that I like surgery, but my post-baby memory has blocked it all out. (Oh, except for the sharp pain of James' c-section with not enough anesthesia. Won't forget that one...)
I'm SO curious to see who Bethy looks like and how much hair she has. How much does she weigh and will she fit in newborn clothes?
I'm also feeling very blessed. Three healthy pregnancies with three healthy babies. God is good and I can fully trust him with the details of tomorrow... No matter how in knots my stomach is!

Weekend Progress
This past weekend we made a lot of progress in the kids' rooms.
I love how the boys' room is coming together! We debated keeping the bunk beds separated, but at the end of the day, this arrangement gives a lot more floor space.
And as John said (I quote:) "I'm OK with a fall this high... They would probably live."
John put the boys to work with the beds. They were very proud of
"working really hard just like Daddy".
This picture cracks me up. Pretty sure that board didn't end up smashing Nate's face, but it sure looks like it!
John even had the boys put in all the boards for the bottom of the bed.
It was a perfect job for OCD James.
TA-DA! If the bedding looks familiar, it's because
I straight up stole every bit of it from HOH.... And I love it!
I ordered a dresser for this empty space - and I'll need to find some new wall decor to complete the room... and maybe some green paint. We'll see.
For Baby Girl's room - We got the room cleared out and furniture moved in.
I also ordered her bedding that may or may not be here before she comes home.
Closet finished and clothes are ready (thank you KERI!!)
Baby Bethy's hospital pile is ready to go.
And now it's time for silly faces with James.
The part of the blog where James comes out and makes... a silly face:

17 Days To Go
Everyone keeps asking if I'm ready for Baby Girl to get here....
If I think about it (I try not to), I'm ready to be done being pregnant - This is the stage where everything is uncomfortable and awkward. I'm also really excited to meet this little girl and see who she looks like and how she fits in our family.
My view - when I'm not knocking the boys over with the belly!
The boys are excited to love on baby sister and I know they're going to be great helpers. These guys have been so helpful and understanding in my "enlarged" state. There is nothing sweeter right now than little voices offering to pick up something I just dropped or spilled because "The baby in your belly is SO big".
Playing outside this afternoon.
On the other hand, this is Baby Bethy's bedroom as of this afternoon:
If I think about this room too much, I start stressing about it... But then I get tired and go lay down. ;-)
All the newborn clothes are ready and hanging up. The 3 month clothes are waiting for the bottom closet rod and shelf then they'll be ready. I have a "little sister" going home outfit and a cute new hospital blanket and hat to take with us. This weekend we should have time to get a lot more done, but I've definitely given up hope of having the room done before her arrival!
I can vaguely make out the head and arm on the bottom picture. I'm lost on the other one!
Last Friday I had an ultrasound and the doctor said the little lady was measuring about 6 1/4 lbs. Phew! 9.7 lb Natester was measuring around 7 1/2 lbs at that point. I'm hoping this means she'll be well under 9 lbs. The doctor also said she looked like she had a lot of hair already. Another sigh of relief. I thought it would be funny if my first bald baby was the girl!
I've been having a lot more fake-contractions than in my previous pregnancies. Like, a couple every hour unless I'm being still. It kind of freaks me out that I might be early, but I've never been early - and did you see that room? I need every bit of these 17 days!
I think that's about all for baby updates - we're taking it easy and enjoying the last few days of the boy life we know!
