Last night Beth was "helping me" do the laundry. I asked her to go throw away the old dryer sheet... and I was completely shocked to see her waddle over to the garbage can and throw it away!

And all while looking SO fashionable!  ;-)

Chelan Camping - Part 2

The next morning, John and I enjoyed a quiet morning with some coffee next to the lake.
It was SO pretty.

We took an extra long boat ride up lake and back to Wapato then met the boys and Grandpa putt-putt golfing.

We spent the afternoon at the beach - playing on the playground and in the sand, fishing, and riding sea-doos.

For dinner, we walked into Manson and ate at a great little pizza place (Troy's Pizza - yum!). The pizza took a long time because it was Saturday night, but the staff was super friendly and the kids didn't seem to mind. It was delicious - we'll definitely be back!

But first, it was Nate's turn to roll down the hill with Dad.

Sunday was going home day. And, of course, it was the hottest day of the trip! As we loaded up the boat and looked at the crystal clear water and the herds of people relaxing on the beach, we were SO close to staying an extra day. But we didn't...

We let the kids ride their bikes and play on the playground for the last time.

To put a nice little bow on the entire weekend, on our way out of town, there were beautiful rainbow-like clouds in the sky.

What a great and memorable weekend. We hope to be back soon!

Chelan Camping - Part 1

We had the best time camping at Lake Chelan last weekend. My parents were staying in condos at Wapato Point and we stayed across the lake at Lake Chelan State Park.

We arrived at the campground on Wednesday night and talked my parents into coming over on the boat to see us right away.

Thursday morning, we loaded up in the boat to go to Wapato, but when we got there, the lake was so smooth and beautiful that we all decided to go for a boat ride instead.

We ended up being on the boat well into the afternoon. It was beautiful!

We stopped at 25 Mile Creek campground and did some fishing. The fish were hungry!

One of the kid's favorite parts about Wapato was riding in the golf cart with Grandma and Grandpa. James was a pretty good driver, but Nate preferred to be a passenger.

In the afternoon, Grandpa and John took the boys for seadoo rides.

Friday, we spent some time playing with the kids at the huge playground area at the state park then drove into Chelan and did some shopping. In the afternoon, we took the kids swimming in the pool at Wapato, had dinner, and hung out at the condo for a while.

My parents took the kids for the night and John and I left just in time for them to deal with the super-late-with-no-nap meltdowns!  :-/

The boys have been going through the Old Testament in one of their Sunday School classes and have been talking about the Israelites worshiping idols and being taken to Babylon, etc...

So - we've been talking about all of this at great lengths every single day. It's quite fantastic and it hurts my head a little! Those boys know how to ask some deep questions!


Last week, we were all in the tiny changing room in Target while I tried on some clothes. The boys were playing some sort of art/sculpting game on my phone and there were at least 4 ladies in other fitting rooms.

In the dead quiet, Nate (the wanna-be-comic-contrarian) turned around and at top-volume shouted "LOOK MOM! I MADE A STATUE AND I'M GOING TO WORSHIP IT! HAHAHAHA!"

This morning, we were talking about the Israelites again:

Nate:  "God said that he would punish the Children of Israel if they did not stop worshiping idols."

That's right. And what was their punishment?

Nate thought for a while......  "He said he would take away their sins!"

Beth is a little confused.

Great-Grandma's

First, boys rode bikes while we walked on the trail next to her house.

Next, a stop at the park.

Then, to Great-Grandma's house to roast hot dogs for lunch!
