Just like Dad

Down at the shop, James saw John chew on an old zip-tie for a minute... the next thing we knew, James had found a couple zip-ties for himself to chew on!

I'm pretty sure he walked around with those in his mouth for at least a half-hour.

Where does he learn this?

James got in our bathroom and I found this....

James has maybe watched me put deodorant on twice. Maybe.

Baseball Game

Saturday, the boys went to their first baseball game (Teirsa and Bobby will kill me if they find out it was only their first!) Cousin Conner placed 3rd in the state tournament (thingy..... oh boy, they're really going to kill me!).

Conner played great and the boys had fun. But, I think Nate had more fun playing with Grandma's necklace and James had more fun playing with his new bike!

Conner is in line there somewhere!

"Mean-Mean"

James watched his first Thomas clip tonight. To say he loved it is understatement of the day.

He was captivated.

"Mean-Mean" (train)

"Choo-Choo"

"Mama, Mean-Mean"

"Choo-Choo"

"Mean-Mean"

 "Choo-Choo? Mama, Choo-Choo!"

..... You get the idea!

Where's Nate?

Did you find him?

I asked James if he would go read a book to Nate.

James walked over, sat in Nate's lap (knocking him backwards), and started reading a book to him.

Oh... then there's the crocks. That adds a whole different dimension of humor to this picture!

Sweet Nate is getting his 2 front teeth!

New Hat

James literally wears this, um.... hat? everywhere now. He's even worn it to bed....

Stop Growing!

Nate rode in the front seat of the cart for the first time this morning. This sounds stupid, but I still don't think he's big enough to try new things (such as riding in the front) when he is totally ready. It's a mental block.

James on the other hand..... we'll have to find a new spot for him in the store. Like maybe waiting in the car.

(Kidding.)

(Kind of.)

GOGO!!

I just took this picture:

(this is the photo book I made of our last German Shepherd, Angus after he died)

because James found it in the pile of coffee table books and started yelling "GOGO!!! GOGO!!!" (thinking it was Hugo).

When I loaded the picture up to the computer, James saw it and again started yelling "GOGO!!!!!" - very enthusiastically I might add.

Chelan Camping

We headed over to Lake Chelan for a couple days this week. My parents, Granny & Pops, Brian & Keri, Conner, and his friend Trevor were staying at the condo at Wapato, so we spent most of our time with them but then went to the camper at night.

The boys did really well. James had a super tough time falling asleep, so that was a challenge. At one point the second night, he woke himself up by getting too close to the edge of the bed so I went over and laid next to him. Every few minutes he would roll over facing me, give me a kiss, then roll back the other way. That must have gone on for at least 45 minutes.... I think that makes up for throwing a book and a the potty seat on my head last night..... I think.....  ;-)

I got James a PEZ dispenser for the car ride. Once he figured out how to get the candy, they were gone in 30 seconds. Maybe next time we'll just opt for no candy!

Our view from the camper morning #1 at Wapato Lake. Unfortunately, this is about as much of the campsite that we saw. It was like Biblical-plague sort of bugs here. Swarms of little things. Eck.

The boys sleeping in.....

James LOVED this duck. We had to hide it in the pool or he wouldn't want to do anything else!

I just love how Kenley's swimsuit hangs off of her!

We fully took over the pool.

Enjoying his rice-cracker-mess

James adores his "bike-bike". It's the bike equivalent of the sin-car

Campsite night #2 - the other side of Wapato Lake.... NO bugs! Yay!

Nate waiting so patiently to go swimming.

Cousin Conner and his friend, Trevor, playing on the swings with James.

Tuckered out after a long couple days!

4th of July

We spent the 4th at Sheri's house again this year. We had a blast hanging out with friends and family we don't get to see very often. The boys did great and even stayed up through all the fireworks.

Hanging out with Aunt Bambi

James thoroughly enjoyed the ribs

The boys checking out the fireworks early.

James and Nate had fun playing ball with cousin Lauren!

Fireworks by the lake.

This is hard to see, but it's all the cakes of fireworks lined up on the dock... I think there were 50 something "cakes" - is that what you call them??!

James semi-enjoyed the fireworks. He started by yelling "BOOM" at every one of them, but soon got tired and just snuggled with me.

Nate, on the other hand, sat with Grandma and loved watching all the lights of the fireworks.

Happy 4th! Hope yours was great!

Happy guy!

A Sunday afternoon

Can you see that belly hanging over?
