Sugar Free

Yep, for the month of March Keri and I are being sugar free. Yikes! For anyone who knows me, this is WAY out of my zone. I heart sugar. I especially heart:

I'm actually really excited to get started though. Keri and I (and James, Nate, Kenley, & Claire) went shopping today and I learned to read labels. I've been super surprised at how many things have sugar in the ingredients list! I've also been really surprised at how many good foods there are that don't have sugar in the ingredients list. I've just never thought it was a big deal to check....

I have 3 minutes left until March 1. I am finishing my last cherry Pepsi and thin mint. Goodbye, cherry Pepsi and thin mints. Hello, carbonated flavored water and carrot sticks!

And before you ask, "why on earth is she drinking cherry Pepsi and eating thin mints at 12am?", remember: that's a stupid question. You would be too!!

Fat Nate

This picture makes me laugh. Usually out loud. :-)

Busy Friday and Lazy Saturday

Friday night Reed was the man and watched the boys so John and I could go out. This meant leaving after Nate was in bed so around 9pm we headed to 13 Coins with some friends. It was a very fun night. We sat in the bar area and they had a live French-jazz group doing the music. John was "mocking" the French until he realized he got a French-dip sandwich with French-fries and some sort of French beer. Haha! We didn't get home until 2am - I'm getting too old, I think!

Saturday morning the boys and I walked a few miles on the Centennial. It was another outdoor walking fail. James was cold and wanted to walk and Nate didn't fall asleep until we were almost to the car. It's not the first or the last time I will have a stroller full of crying children I suppose!

Saturday afternoon James got to hang out in his car while John washed our cars... and Hugo found a fun hole to bury his treasures.

Happy Reading!

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins...

But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph 2:1,4-10)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.

In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory.

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of His glory. (Eph 1:3-14)

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 Jn 3:1)

This is just part of what I have been reading today. Pretty mind-blowing if you ask me!

Camping chair

Wade and Angela left camping chairs for the boys. I love it because James hasn't figured out how to get out of it by himself. I left him in the chair for a few minutes and when I came back, he was just hanging out...

Seriously?

James & Hugo

Lately, James *loves* feeding Hugo. One handful at a time, or sometimes one kibble at a time. If he ever gets to be in Hugo's room, that's the first place he'll go.

Last night James was giving Hugo kibble one at a time when John called me downstairs to see what had happened. James was soaked hair-to-shoes because he had fallen into Hugo's water when he was reaching for food. Oops!

Sleepy Monkey

Poor James has been crazy sick the last few days. Yesterday afternoon and evening he cried just about every minute that he was awake. No exaggeration - John can vouch for that!

I let him sleep in this morning. When I went to get him, this is what I found.... *snoring*! I just couldn't wake him up, and apparently the camera didn't wake him up either. So, it's 10:45am and he's still up there snoozing away!

Why I love my man today:

I got to watch him hanging out with both boys on the couch this morning... and I know it's his favorite thing ever!

He took time to listen to my disjointed thoughts about what I just learned from a Beth Moore message.

He washed my car and one wheel (there's a story!) this morning.

Why do you love your man today?

Nate - 3 Month Dr. Appt

At 3 months:

Weight: 14lbs 6oz (63%)
Height: 24" (40%)
HC: 42.2cm (17%)

This was after his 2 shots. He always tries to suck his thumb and cry at the same time, poor guy!

And THIS is what happens when Daddy watches James!

Never a Dull Moment...

Last night Hugo was being loud, so we put him in the garage for about a half hour...... oops!

I had a bag of topsoil I just bought sitting on the floor and apparently Hugo really likes dirt (duh). I can just imagine how much fun he had playing in it while we weren't looking!

Goodbye Overstreets!

Last night the Overstreets came over for one last dinner before they leave on Friday. We will SO miss them, but we're already planning our trip to Tennessee for a visit!

James had to wear his Gator jersey to impress Miss Angela!

And Will..... he's a character!

Nate's First Haircut

Nate got his first haircut at Hair Master's on Friday. He did great - just sat on my lap and looked around with the little kid-cape on!

Nate - 3 Months!

Natester turned 3 Months old on January 25th!

I could be speaking too soon, but honestly Nate has been another dream baby. He likes to be held a little more than James, but maybe that's just because it feels like I have fewer arms to hold him! He has just started giggling and smiling all the time. He is also very alert and if there's anything going on, he'll be awake and looking around.

Nate has been so great sleeping during naps and at night (9-11 hours, yay!). Just this week I finally moved the pack-n-play into the extra room so he's all by himself now (again, yay!). About a month ago, I thought I would never sleep through the night ever, but alas, I feel human again!

James has been a great big brother. Just this morning, I dropped Nate off in nursery and James went over and sat as close as he could to his brother. It was pretty cute!

Here are some other 3 month pics, I SO wish this one had turned out - I think he has the Ronk big-eyes!

I clearly remember James being a wiggle-worm for his 3 month pictures, and Nate was no exception. He is big enough to hold his head and body up, but has no muscle control so he'd see me, get excited, and fall over!
