Where have I been? Part 1

It feels like we have been gone for weeks... and looking back, I guess we have!

Sunday, May 15, we headed over to Moses Lake with some JK friends to "play" in the sand dunes. (I guess that's what you do, right?!) John's mom watched James and his brother watched Hugo, so we were empty handed on this trip! I hung out by the water with the ladies, dogs and kids, tagged along for some Jeep rides, and almost wet my pants riding with John in the RZR... that boy doesn't slow down! Ha ha! It was a great day with some great friends AND beautiful sun!!

I realized recently that I never officially posted about our latest and greatest addition to the family...

Hugo Stiglitz Carruthers

He's a German Shepherd (for real this time), and the cutest thing ever (although my mom may disagree!). He was born on Valentine's Day so that makes him about 3 1/2 months right now. It's been fun having him around, but I won't lie - he's WAY more work than James and all my other house "duties" put together! I'm holding out that that will change and he'll be a great buddy for the kiddos (and me!).

Someone reminded me the other day that I officially announced our official announcement everywhere BUT my blog... So, I apologize if these are your only updates from us and you are just finding out!

I'm pregnant...... again!

Yeah, surprise! I was pretty shocked, but after a few weeks of crying and being VERY sick, I got some nausea drugs from my doctor and began to be thankful!

I'm due October 31 - Halloween - go figure! That puts me at 15 1/2 weeks right now and I'm just starting to get some energy back and feel a tiny bit better! I had a doctor appt this morning and everything seems to be going well! We'll find out the gender on June 7th!

Looks like kiddos will be almost exactly 13 months apart! Ohhhh boy!

7 Months!

James Bug is 7 Months now! How on earth did that happen?!

He's changed a lot in the last few months... Most obviously, he's a little chunk! Man has he gotten chubby - and heavy! When I weighed him with me this morning, he was 18.6.

He also in the last few days has gotten his two bottom teeth poking through! Lots of drool and chewing, but he's still happy and sleeping! (Thank you God!!)

Last but not least, we just discovered this morning that he has mastered the skill of crawling! I use the term "mastered" loosely, but he can scooch like a rookie little-league-r! :-/



He's very much into sucking/chewing BOTH thumbs. One is not enough I suppose... ?

Hey Everyone! Just thought I would surprise a few people (you know who you are!) and update my blog TONIGHT! That's right. Just got back from the first session of the Mini-Ladies' Retreat (this is not for MINI people, although since I'm attending, you may be apt to presume. Don't be fooled.). Anyway, it's GREAT!

Dr Appt 4.8.10

He also has some new stats - at 6 1/2 months:

HC: 44 cm (48%)

He's quite the chunk these days!

It was pretty cute when I went to get him up from his nap this afternoon, he had obviously been awake in his crib for a while and I could swear he had been practicing balancing on his hands and knees! He would push himself up then give me the biggest smile like he was saying, "Look what I can do Ma!'. It was WAY too cute for words!

Sorry, bad blogger here... This is Mr. Chunk waking up from his nap the other day precariously perched on his crib!

5 Month Doctor Visit

Baby James is putting on the pounds! He has officially doubled in weight, and someone informed me the other day that he's pretty much guaranteed to double his height from right now, so Yay!, he'll be at least a 4 foot Carruthers!

March 5th:

Weight: 14 lbs, 12 oz (15th %)
Height: 25.25" (23rd %)
HC: 42cm

5 Months!

This is James' 5 month pic even though he really turned 5 months on the 22nd! He's getting big really fast! I definitely think each week gets better... and he's the best baby ever (I'm a little biased though!). He's on a great 4-hour routine and sleeping 8:30-8 (hallelujah!). He loves to babble away, play with toys on the floor, and chew on everything! Kind of sounds like a dog now that I read it! Anyway, he's been a total blast thus far!

I found James sleeping like this one morning. Maybe I was being too loud downstairs or something??

Long Day!

I thought this was too cute! The other night, I put J on the couch while I got his bottle ready and literally in the minute it took me to fill it up, he was OUT!

First Eats

Here I go... hopefully some more updates coming!

I'll start with food... and I use the term "food" loosely! James started eating cereal about a month ago! These are the pictures from the first feeding, but he's (I'VE) gotten much cleaner as we both learn how to do the whole eating thing!

We also got clearance from the doctor to start fruits anytime, but I need to actually read my "super baby food" book then buy and make the fruit before he can actually do the eating!

Ok, this is kind of a creepy picture now that I look at it closely! Sorry posts have been non-existent. My computer got a virus about 3 weeks ago and it's still not fixed yet. I do have many updates to do though! 5 months, Moose, sleeping, talking, cereal, Dr. appt today (up to 14.12!!), Suncadia tonight, J. Bug spending the night with Grandpa & Grandma tonight...... maybe updates soon?? :)

4 month doctor visit

I think there's something in the "Ronk" genes that makes babies NOT grow! Today's baby James stats - at almost 4 1/2 months:

Weight: 12 lbs, 7 oz (5th percentile)
Height: 24.5" (20th percentile)
HC: 42 cm

Teething?

We're pretty sure baby James is starting to teeth... maybe. He's way super cranky, won't take good naps, and wants to chew on everything!
